Theresa Stahl, Registered Dietitian

Theresa has been promoting balanced eating for over 30 years. She is currently an outpatient community dietitian specialist with the Western Maryland Health System. She is a nutrition writer, speaker, and exercise instructor. She served on the nutrition faculty of Potomac State College of West Virginia University for over 7 years.

Theresa was honored as the 2010 Dietitian of the Year by the Dietetic Caucus of the Western Maryland Area Health Education Center (AHEC), a regional health professionals organization in Maryland. The mission of the Western Maryland AHEC is to improve access to and promote quality in health care through educational partnerships with centers of higher education, community health professionals, and other vital supporters and advocates.

Some of her past experiences also include nutrition counseling in physicians’ offices, a dialysis center, a fitness center, a behavioral health hospital, and addiction programs. She has also taught corporate wellness classes and has written and performed regularly featured nutrition tips for radio and television. She has been a priority session speaker at the American Dietetic Association's (ADA) Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE). 

Theresa serves as chairman of the Dietetic Caucus of the Western Maryland Area Heath Education Center, Past chair and member of the WMHS Diabetes Self Management Education Program Advisory Committee and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the University of Maryland Extension Program in Allegany County, MD, and the Make Healthy Choices Easy Committee. She holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from Hood College. 

She enjoys gardening, cooking and all sorts of exercise. Theresa lives in the mountains of Western Maryland with her loving husband Jim who is a registered investment advisor.
