Theresa has been promoting balanced eating for over 25 years. She has worked in a wide variety of settings and is currently a nutrition writer, speaker, and renal dietitian with the Western Maryland Health System. She serves on the nutrition faculty at Potomac State College of West Virginia Universityand is also a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor.
Theresa was recently honored as the Dietitian of the Year by the Dietetic Caucus of the Western Maryland Area Health Education Center (AHEC), a regional health professionals organization in Maryland. The mission of the Western Maryland AHEC is to improve access to and promote quality in health care through educational partnerships with centers of higher education, community health professionals, and other vital supporters and advocates.
Some of her past work experiences include nutrition counseling in physicians’ offices, a fitness center, a behavioral health hospital, and adult and adolescent addiction programs and teaching corporate wellness classes. She wrote and recorded nutrition tips for radio and television.
Theresa is Vice-Chairman of the Dietetic Caucus of the Western Maryland Area Heath Education Center and Sponsorship Chairperson of the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practic Group of the American Dietetic Association. She holds two B.S. degrees from Hood College. She enjoys gardening, cooking, canoeing, and all sorts of exercise. She lives in the mountains of Western Maryland with her husband and two children who are currently in college.
